Devotions to Our Lady

Every year group at St Anselm's has created a special front cover for their RE books, featuring diverse depictions of Our Lady. The children are taught about their image of Our Lady at the start of the year and it becomes part of their prayer focus through the year ahead.

The Month of the Holy Rosary: October 2023

During the month of the Holy Rosary, members of our GIFT Team visited each class on a Friday to lead a decade of the Rosary. The intention of our prayers was for peace in Ukraine and across the world.

Parents joined children and staff in the Meeting Room every Tuesday morning to pray the Rosary, led by the  GIFT Team.

Devotions to Our Lady: May 2024

During the month of May we have taken time to worship Mary. Members of our GIFT team lead Wednesday Rosary sessions, reminding children and parents of the power of meditative prayer.

The whole school took part in a procession to Our Lady and each class brought a gift to lay at the altar for Mary. Reception classes spent time creating thoughtful prayers for Mary and arranged these on their indoor and outdoor trees and gardens.

To mark the end of the month of May, Year 3 and the GIFT team lead a special Devotion Service, laying a carpet of flowers and following our school tradition, the youngest Year 3 children crowned Mary with necklace of promises.
