YES Fest Harrow 2025
On Thursday 5th and Friday 6th June 2025, six of our Green Ambassadors embarked on an exciting sustainability journey to the Youth Eco Summit Festival – YES Fest – Harrow. The event started at Harrow School, where the children participated in a carousel of activities, which included a seminar hosted by the Eden Project, where the children learnt how important rainforests are to our planet. After a short break, the children then attended three environmental themed activities where they made clay characters using leaves, twigs and foliage from the forest, practiced breathing exercises among the trees, inducing peace and calm. They also had to design a building using sustainable construction practices and materials, inspired by the science block at Harrow School. The children also had the pleasure of meeting Harrow’s Nature Conservationist, who helped them identify various species found in the school’s lake, and learnt interesting facts about them.
In the afternoon, we set off to West Lodge Primary School to camp for the night! Before bed, the children enjoyed making pizza (along with many other creative activities) followed by engaging storytelling whilst toasting marshmallow and sipping tasty hot chocolate.
After another range of fun activities including a pollen study, beekeeping and final reflection, tired but happy, we set off back to our beloved school.
